BELLA
(Hilton Belle)
16 October 1992 - 8 April 2006
Bella was the black and tan mongrel with a curly tail who probably very few people would have looked at twice, but to us she was the most wonderful, loving, loyal friend and companion that you could ever wish for.We adopted her from Wood Green Animal Shelter in November 1992 and she started her agility training one year later. Although affectionately known as a “clear round girl” by her training club, there were very few shows in her 9 year career when she did not bring home a rosette, sometimes with a number on, or on the rare occasion, a trophy.
In November of last year she was diagnosed by heart failure and we were advised she probably only had weeks to live. But she was not ready to give up just yet and so continued enjoying her life to the full.
On Saturday 8th April, she came with us to “cheer the others on” at the Spring at Shuttleworth Show, when she got out of the car and immediately had a fit. She was carried to the veterinary surgery, where the vet advised us that her heart was finally letting her down and it was time to let her go. She lay there in my arms as she closed her eyes for the very last time and was finally at peace.
Thank you, Bella, for 13 wonderful years. We miss you more than we could ever think was possible.
Sleep well, my darling girl, we love and miss you lots.
Good night and god bless.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so
they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our
friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were
hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of
days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they
each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the
distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from
the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together
in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands
again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so
long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
