FCI Agility World Championships

Porto, Portugal 2001

The 2001 Agility World Championships were held at the Pavilion Rosa Mota in Porto, northern Portugal over the weekend of the 6^th and 7^th October and hosted by the Portuguese Kennel Club.

There were entries from 26 countries and for the first time the UK were invited to enter.

There were both standard and mini dog team competitions as well as individual standard and mini competitions.

2001 World Mini Individual

Gold Elena Klokova, Diamond Kroun Bidzh, Poodle, Russia

Silver Sylvian Jacque Min, Mira des Drayeres, Pyrenean Sheepdog, France

Bronze Tumanova Svetlana, Aisknekht Osborn, Spitz, Russia

Best UK finish was Nicola Williams with My Haven Fancy Footways, Miniature Poodle, who came 41^st.

2001 World Standard Team

The UK team finished 10^th

2001 World Standard Individual

Gold Jenny Damm, Salts Joborgs Lotus, BC, Sweden

Silver Patrice Willaume, Noun du Lur’Yanov, Briard, France

Bronze Sally Andrews,Udine Daley, BC, Belgium

Best UK finish was Jo Rhodes with Moravia Red October, BC, who came 10^th.

The teams and many supporters celebrating the end of the competitions prior to the presentations in the arena at the 2001 FCI Agility World Championships.

Not the best of results for the UK team, but hopefully an experience we can all learn from and therefore hopefully gain better results in Dortmund, Germany in 2002.
